Zimbabwe has a pretty busy cricketing schedule lined up for them this year, as there are several home and away series. One of the most important tours for the Zimbabwean Cricket Team will be Zimbabwe tour of New Zealand 2012, which will start from the January 26, 2012, as per the cricket fixture presented by the International Cricket Council, and adhered by cricket boards of both the countries, that is, the Zimbabwean Cricket Union, and New Zealand Cricket. In fact, this series is a follow up series after New Zealand’s tour to Zimbabwe during October, 2011. Zimbabwe vs New Zealand 2012 is also the part of the Future Tour Programs, an innovative concept by the ICC, with the intention of promoting cricket throughout the world.

This bilateral contest between Zimbabwe and New Zealand will consist of Test match, One Day International Series and a couple of Twenty20 matches. New Zealand vs Zimbabwe 2012 will kick off with the first and only Test match, to be played at Napier, from the January 26, 2012. Zimbabwe is currently unranked in the Test format, and is generally not known for exception Test performance. On the other hand, the Black Caps will try and aim for a comprehensive Test win against the minnows.

After the completion of Zimbabwe vs New Zealand 2012 Test match, both teams will battle it out in the 50 over version of the game. New Zealand will be hosting a 3 match One Day International series, from February 3, 2012. The first match will be played in Dunedin on February 3. The second ODI will be held at Whangarei on February 6, 2012, while the last match will be held at Napier, on February 9, 2012. Zimbabwe will be expected to make an upset, as they have done previously with teams like India, West Indies and Australia. On the other hand, New Zealand will not take Zimbabweans lightly.

Once the Zimbabwe vs New Zealand 2012 One Day International series terminates, it will be time for fast paced, exhilarating brand of cricket - Twenty20. Both the teams will be engaging in T20 action. There will be two Twenty20 encounters, as per the cricket fixture. The first T20 match will be played at Auckland on February 12, 2012, while the 2nd one will be played at Hamilton, on February 14. The series is expected to provide viewers and audiences with some wonderful cricketing actions.
